Performance Work at Oracle - A Message from the Trenches

OTN will also be also be bringing the latest Oracle9i software (Database, JDeveloper, Oracle9iAS OC4J, Webcache, TopLink) for all attendees.

Abstract:
Gaining insight into potential and real performance issues on an application server is a challenging task whether the purpose of the activity is tuning, bench marking or trouble shooting. We'll describe Oracle's Dynamic Monitoring System (DMS) and how we use it to analyze real world performance issues in a timely fashion.

In addition, we'll describe the history of the Java Petstore testing we performed at Oracle, and what we changed in the Sun Blueprint code. This will lead to a discussion of a number of J2EE performance practices which we've discovered to be of value for a range of applications
