Overview of Broadleaf Commerce, an Enterprise, Open Source, E-Commerce Framework w/ Spring and JPA

Abstract:
This session will take a look at the technologies used to create Broadleaf Commerce, and some of the challenges and findings we have encountered as we are building an enterprise, open source E-Commerce framework. Of particular note, we'll cover: Broadleaf Commerce is an open source E-Commerce application framework that will be available for download in Summer 2009. The platform is 70% complete, and is being developed jointly by Broadleaf Commerce, LLC, and The Container Store.

Bio:
Brian Polster leads the Java Solutions Practice for Credera, a Dallas based Management and Technology Consulting company. Brian has spent the majority of his 17 year career developing and architecting solutions with the Java framework. He has worked with E-Commerce frameworks since 1998, including Broadvision and ATG. In addition, Brian has led the development of several custom E-Commerce solutions.

Recently, Brian assisted with the formulation of Broadleaf Commerce, LLC, which is a company charged with creating and maintaining an enterprise open source commerce platform.

Prior to working with Credera and Broadleaf Commerce, Brian held the position of lead application architect for American Airlines website (AA.com).
