This is a general
discussion board
created for JavaMUG.
All members will be assumed to have read the underlying
governing documents associated with JavaMUG.
These documents will be in effect for all members of this Yahoo! Group
whether or not they are members of JavaMUG.
The governing documents reside on the Yahoo! Group in the Files section
under the Governing Documents folder.
The JavaMUG board requests that all JavaMUG_discuss members
use professional courtesy.
Lively discussions about the facts of various topics are welcome.
Personal attacks are considered inappropriate.
Repeated personal attacks, or severe personal attacks,
may result in a ban of a member.
Moving to the
Sun facility
will be effective for the JavaMUG meeting on
April 13.
See below for final vote tally.
Voting For New JavaMUG Location
The list is short.
Lots of businesses were contacted (UTD, Central
Market, CompUsa Training, Southwest, etc.), but either the cost
wasn't suitable (not free), the availability wasn't suitable,
or the room was too small.
If you don't like the choices, PLEASE become part of the solution, and
send the board a specific contact at a business who has enough authority
to approve a request for use of a meeting room.
Since we don't want to inconsiderately keep the reservation on the
facilities' meeting rooms outstanding for very long, we will close
the voting by Feb. 28.
This will allow us to tell the generous
people at the facilities who do not "win,"
to release their room from a reservation hold.
We're sorry we couldn't time it so that the
vote was held in person at the next JavaMug meeting.
We did push for a Feb. meeting deadline, but corporations have to go through
"channels," and some decisions were still pending.
Here are the 3 specific location choices for voting by JavaMug membership.
You may e-mail your vote to a special yahoo group by clicking on
this link
to provide additional comments, or one of the links below.
You DO NOT need to join a yahoo group to vote.
Your e-mail will suffice.
The location move is expected to be in April, but we can use JCPenney in March.
Voting ended on Feb. 28, 2005.
can be contacted for more information.

Although the meeting is completely open, as all meetings are,
if you plan to attend please let
know so that seating is sufficient.
Also let
know if you would like to present on a topic,
or have a specific contribution/addition to the agenda so that we can be sure
to hear from you – even if you have a disagreement or alternative.
Remember that JavaMUG is a community, and the best way to ensure you benefit
from the community is to participate.
We are also all volunteers and appreciate any small aid you can provide.
Yes, we are "just" a user group, but we have a responsibility to be
the best user group to our fellow members, the Java community, and sponsors.
