of the Java Gurus Review
Review by Billy Barron
"Tricks of the Java Gurus" by Glenn Vanderburg, et al. (Sams.Net; ISBN unknown) is a book I helped tech edit. It is unique in that it is aimed at people who already know Java, but want advanced material on numerous different topics (by comparsion, "Advanced Java" is pretty focused. It does meet this aim. It won't be a book you'll read from cover to cover. Most likely, you'll initially read one or two chapters. Then you'll put it on your shelf until you need to read about one of the other topics in this book. Some examples of the topics covered are Modifying the Security Manager, Native Methods, and Factory Objects. I haven't seen another book covering any of these topics. |
