After the publication of this seminal book, managers everywhere aspired to be "one minute managers".  This book was followed by a series of other "One Minute" titles, such as "The One Minute Manager Meets the Monkey."

Of course, some smart alecks note that the book is written in elementary school primer style and language, which is clearly all that managers can handle.....

The book stresses that good human relations do not need to be extraordinary earth shattering events, but should be common daily events.

I had a boss I called the "Half a Minute Manager" because in the morning she would make her rounds, and say "Hey, how ya doin'" and then leave before anyone could answer.
