"Java Design Review: Building Better Apps & Applets" by Coad & Mayfield (Yourdon Press; ISBN 0-13-271149-4) is the only Java specific design book on the market that I know of. It will be useful to OO architects on large projects who want to take advantage of Java's features in their OO designs. On the other hand, it is not very useful to programmers who do small projects with little formalized design.
