      Speaker #1: Dr. Charles Forgy
      Dr Charles Forgy, inventor of the Rete algorithm, and the principal designer of OPS5, the language in which the first commercially successful expert system was written spoke first. He gave the group an overview of rules engines and their history.

      Peer-to-peer (P2P) is not obvious for most things other than file sharing. Moving To The P2P World With JXTA.

      Approximately 46 people attended the meeting at our new home, Sun Microsystems, 16000 Dallas Parkway. One new member joined, and three others will be contacted about their requests to join.

      Matthew Harrington, Director of Marketing Development, gave us a brief presentation on Ajilon (tonight's meeting sponsor).   Ajilon also provided the group with a first class set of drawing giveaways — including 3 DVD players.   Handouts were provided by Angela L.       1. Lisa Danzer, Technology Manager for Sun, welcomed us to Sun's Dallas North Dallas office. She also solicited link suggestions for kids. The links should be related to science, math, or technology, and include games or something that would be intriguing to young people. Link suggestions can be sent directly to Lisa.
      2. Crayton Harrison, a reporter for The Dallas Morning News, attended this month's JavaMUG meeting. He was interested in speaking to JavaMUG techies who are unemployed, underemployed, or have recently been unemployed. Specifically, he is wanting to speak with people who have been through some type of retraining or upgrading of skills. He wants to know if it is helping them find jobs.
      3. The Jobs Corner is a new addition to our monthly meeting. This month, Steve Davidson, Vice President of JavaMUG, presented job openings for the Jobs Corner.
