Attendance at the general meeting was agreed to be approximately
65 for the evening

Programs:

President announced speakers and topics booked with the Program Director through September 2002. There are back-ups for some meetings with July currently open.
- Board exchanged comments on the presentation by Mr. Price and Mr. Tierney. It was said the the topic was of interest for the audience, though more product-oriented than usual.

Promotions:

Barbara reported a positive change in corporate sponsorship situation as a result of her e-mail communication with the JavaMUG subscribers.

Book Donations:

Barbara expressed a concern regarding a smaller number of books donated for the draw in the recent past. Clarification was deferred to Billy when present.

Minutes:

The Board accepted Secretary's proposal to submit the Minutes for the January meetings in a week's time.
Secretary will be responsible for contacting tonight's presenters on the subject of slides availability.
- Lone Star Software Symposium

Jay Zimmerman approached the Board with the request to provide assistance with publicising the Lone Star Software Symposium scheduled to take place in Dallas, May 17-19, 2002.

The Board agreed to include 2 brief postings in JavaMUG monthly ads and a posting to the list with the full agenda, as well as to place announcement/link on the WebSite, provided JavaMUG members will get a 10% discount for registration.
The Board asked the guest about the logistics behind this regional event and gave their input.
- Status of Java Resources of the Month

Gil Hansen continues to compile the resources list, a contribution valued highly by the Board and the group at large.

- Bob reported on his cyberinvestigation. Most of the targeted companies had gone out of business. Active organizations list JavaMUG on their sites.

In Pete's words, the potential is there, the template is in place but the technical difficulties of resizing the images and getting sponsor/presenter information in a timely manner remain..
- Sponsors:
- Dan reminded that sponsors and prizes should be listed each month in historical minutes.
