JavaMUG Meeting Minutes
September 8, 1999
6:30-7:00 p.m.: Voter registration and social.
Melissa Meeker and Eric Stark from ValTech provided refreshments
for the members prior to the meeting.
7:10 p.m. Billy Barron calls the meeting to order.
Announcements:
- JavaMUG Constitution and Bylaws will be voted on at the October
Meeting. The document is available for review here
on the JavaMUG website.

Any suggestions for the Constitution or Bylaws should be
sent to the JavaMUG Board prior to the October meeting.

New officers will be nominated at the October meeting and
voted on at the November meeting. These new officers will take their positions
in January 2000.

Robert Korngiebel from Forté Software presents
their product SynerJ.
Introduction:
Forté made the move to using Java when they discovered
that the web enabling technologies seemed to have trouble integrating with
other systems. They changed their previous core technology to run on Java
standard.
Sun Microsystems acquired Forté as a wholly owned
subsidiary; to date, this has been the largest acquisition that Sun has
made.
