INTRODUCTION. JavaMUG president Damon Clinkscales was introduced by Jim
Burke.

JAVA DESIGN PATTERN OF THE MONTH. Factory and Prototype presented by Jeff
Gibson of Advance Paradigm. Factory and Prototype were combined to provide
a basic RMI server design. Thanks for volunteering Jeff!  Who will present 
next month's pattern?

MAIN PRESENTATION.  An introduction to Java3D and VRML was presented by Alex
Lopez of Delphi Consultants.  Complete with demos, Alex introduced the group
to Virtual Universes, Locales, and Branch Nodes.  He demonstrated how VRML
could call Java3D to open a desk drawer within a 3D application....Cool!  Alex
will provide the presentation and examples to JavaMUG to place on the 
http://www.javamug.org/ site.   It was a good description of an up and
coming technology.  Thanks Alex!

GROUP SURVEY.  Damon circulated a survey to attendees and 13 were 
returned.  Your ideas are helping us to make JavaMUG better every month! If 
you are interested in answering the survey, but were unable to attend the 
meeting, please send me an e-mail.

- Java Developers Journal.  JavaLobby and JDJ join together to provide 
  a free subscription.  See http://www.sys-con.com/resub.html
- Sign-up sheet for participation in the mentoring/certification program 
  was made available.   Jim Burke is coordinating the program. 
- Last reminder about the JavaOne group discount.  Sign-up by May 17th.

RECRUITING. A couple of recruiting firms left business cards and described
open 
Java positions at the meeting.
