President introduced topics for the forthcoming meetings and gave an overview of Java events in the Metroplex.

SIGs moderators made announcements about forthcoming presentations.
- President made elections announcements; Bob Byron announced his decision
not to run and nominated Pete Carapetyan for VP; Secretary gave ballot status:
self-nominations from David Croft for President and Suresh Shah for Secretary
against current officers; Promotions Director called for nominations for the
Board positions and explained how service in profession can benefit individual
careers.

The meeting sponsor, Greenbrier & Russel, once again demonstrated its commitment to Java developers community. Daniel Brookshier, moderator of Talk Java/Drink Java group at Las Colinas thanked the company for housing his seminar for more than 6 years. The company's representative, Matt Hargus, gave a brief overview of training and services available at Greenbrier & Russel.
